Bardney road-racer Ivan Lintin was competing at the Bush Road Races in Ireland at the weekend where he notched up two strong finishes, sixth in the 250cc class and 10th in the open class.

On a familiar track Lintin completed his qualifying in the dry to claim a second row start to his 250cc race the following day. But a heavy downpour of rain left the track surface damp and slippery for the start of his six-lap race, making any progress forward a dicey affair. He completed the six laps of the 3.307-mile road course in sixth position and said:

“I have raced at Bush in the past but not on the McKinstry Racing 250cc machine. The track is very tight and twisty and so quite challenging. I started from the second row and had I qualified a little better I could have got away with the leaders. They managed to pull a gap and I was left circulating on my own for the majority of the race.”

Next up was the Open class race where Lintin was riding the Barron Transport Services sponsored superstock machine. He qualified in 21st place for a start from row seven and managed to pull back places to complete the seven laps in 10th position.

“After the rain I, along with the majority of the riders, I opted for full wet weather tyres but once we got going the track began to dry out in the wind and to be honest it was a bit too dry for full wets. But I finished in 10th position and, considering my starting position I am happy enough.”

Lintin travels south to Athea in Ireland for his next outing and from there to Skerries where he will be riding the county-based Sunfish-UK sponsored 600cc and 750cc Suzuki's on July 5 using the track time as a warm-up for the Cock O’the North Road races at Scarborough’s Oliver’s Mount course on July 12.
