Gary Mason dominated the BSB Daily Star Cup on the Q8Oils lubricated Quay Garage Racing Honda superbike at Snetterton on Sunday 15th June.
Mason started as he meant to continue by qualifying first out of the Cup riders and sixteenth overall on the grid, ahead of several leading Superbike team riders, including Hydrex Bike Animal Honda’s Guy Martin.
Cup Championship leader John Laverty on the 1098 Ducati battled with Gary Mason all the way to the finish line, but it was Mason who finished first, having posted the fastest lap of the race on Lap Four.
Race Two was delayed due to a downpour so torrential that the circuit had to be drained and cleared before racing could commence. However it seemed as if nothing could throw Mason off his stride, as he put in the fastest lap on Lap Eight and crossed the line ahead of Laverty for the second time that day.
Although he has only competed at two out of the five rounds of the season to date, Gary Mason is now running fifth in the Daily Star Cup, having won three out of the four races and finished second in the other.
The team will be back in action at Mallory Park on 27th-29th June.
