Rob Mac Racing's Karl Harris will line up on the second row of the grid in sixth position for the two 21-lap British Superbike races at Snetterton, Norfolk (15th June).
The dry, yet overcast conditions gave way to a persistent rain shower midway through the fifty-minute Swan Combi - Roll for Pole qualifying session. Karl's fastest lap time, up to that point, of 1:05.905s would see the 28-year old qualify as the highest placed Yamaha as he looks to continue his charge up the Championship leader board.
The remainder of the session was classified as WET providing riders with the opportunity to test a wet weather set-up for the first time this weekend around the 1.95 mile circuit ahead of race day.
The Pirelli Pit Walk at 10.45 precedes race day action. The lights will go out on the first 21-lapper at 13.15, with Karl's second visit to the grid at 16.30.
Karl Harris: "That was alright, though I could have gone a little faster. I was on for a front row start and was putting in some strong lap times in the 1:5s bracket when Easton crashed. I backed off thinking the session would be red-flagged due to debris on the track and returned to pit lane only to find the session still running. By the time I got back out again the weather had closed in and my time back on the second row stood. We've made some changes on the bike throughout the weekend that have really worked and I know that we will have the pace and the consistency to be up the front tomorrow.
"Rob McElnea, Team Principal: "We've been running up towards the top of the time sheets again all weekend. Karl got caught out a bit with the weather during qualifying but starting from P6 will be good enough to get him into the mix and away with the leaders. The team's worked really hard and Karl will be looking to continue to post good results to move him up the leader board this weekend after our late start to the season."
