The bwin.com British Grand Prix at Donington Park on June 20th -22nd is the eighth round of the 18 round MotoGP World Championship that visits 14 countries and four continents between March and October.
 
The average attendance for a three day grand prix weekend in 2007 was 129,050. Last year 132,435 fans attended the British Grand Prix at Donington with a race day crowd of 84,785.
 
The British round of the World Championship was staged at the TT races on the Isle of Man until 1976. Donington Park has staged the British Grand Prix since 1987.
 
A total of 3,569 hours was broadcast from the 18 grands prix in 2007. A total of 207 countries were reached by MotoGP broadcasts and the live TV signal was received by 184 countries. A staggering 337 million homes were reached by cable, satellite and TV networks.
 
The BBC is experiencing a 21% rise in their audience figures for their coverage of the first six grands prix of the season. Nearly one and a half million viewers tuned into the Cinzano Grand Prix of Catalunya last Sunday. The Spanish television audience peaked at 4.7 million with over eight million watching in Italy which was bigger than the audience for the Formula One race in Canada, later in the afternoon.
 
A total of 11,903 media representatives were accredited for the 18 grands prix last season. An average of 661 journalists from 56 separate countries attended each grand prix.
 
The first ever World Championship motorsport event to be staged on tarmac under floodlights was held in Qatar on March 9th this year.
 
The average MotoGP paddock in Europe occupies 30,000 square metres, houses 1800 people, includes its own A&E hospital clinic and requires two and a half thousand kilowatts of power to keep the infrastructure ticking over.
 
The European grands prix paddocks house 150 articulated trucks 45 hospitality units and 80 motor homes.
