Suzuki RM-Z450 riders finished first and third in the latest round of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Motocross Championships in Kentucky, USA, in the series' first-ever all-Australasian podium.
The event, round seven of the 2008 series, was the first time an American rider hasn't finished inside the top three.
New Zealand ace Paul Whibley made a last-lap move to win the challenging three-hour event - his second successive victory - and closes to within 23 points of championship leader David Knight.
"It was rough and I had to ride hard, but I think I could have maybe gone another lap," Whibley said. "But I'm not sure, because it was rough and I had the hammer down because I wanted to hold on for the win."
The win adds to the success of Suzuki's new, fuel-injected RM-Z450, with the 2008 model a regular on podiums around the world since its introduction.
Whibley's Suzuki team-mate Josh Strang from Australia led the majority of the race but faded in the last 40 minutes, having been unable to train between rounds due to a knee injury.
He was passed in the dying laps by Whibley and fellow Australian Glenn Kearney and finished third, his fourth-consecutive podium finish.
Strang sits third in the championship, 19 points behind Whibley.
