Yamaha’s classic XJR1300 is one of the latest crop of 2008 models to benefit from Micron’s recently-launched Delta Sport silencer.
Fitting to the naked Yamaha’s existing pipework via a 63.5mm connecting pipe, Micron's Delta Sport can features a removable baffle and conforms to BSAU standards. Improving the overall looks of the traditionally styled machine, it adds a traditional note to the exhaust, too.
The Delta Sport silencer also shaves a hefty 3.2kg off the weight of the XJR1300’s original unit and adds no less than 6bhp at 7,000rpm. But, perhaps more importantly for a bike with such styling, it also benefits from a 3ft/lb gain in torque at 5,500rpm.
Micron’s Delta Sport for the Yamaha XJR1300 will retail at an affordable £249.99 including VAT for the stainless steel finish (RMY52/O) and £324.99 inc. VAT for the titanium version (RMY52/OT).
“It’s a great traditional bike,” said Micron’s brand manager, Arthur Macdonald, “particularly with it’s twin rear shock set up. The new Delta Sport enhances the styling, as well as boosting both power and torque – a great combination.”
