This is Oxford's first foray into protective equipment for riders, but it is not beginner's luck that in their first independent tests (carried out on behalf of a popular consumer magazine) these products were "the highest scoring hard-coated back protector in our test".

The technical team behind Oxford's new range of "Max Protection" back protectors already has many years of experience in this market and has created their best work yet to give Oxford a handsome headstart in this sector.

Three elements combine to create the advanced "Max Protection" system:
  • Hexcore - a patented protective honeycomb absorption structure.
  • AID (Absorption Insert Disc) - a system which allows the hard protective outer to remain flexible and comfortable.
  • 3DX Technical Impact Foam - a breathable honeycomb absorption pad which sits between the hard outer and your body.

As well as scoring exceptionally well in the impact tests carried out, Oxford's hard-coated protectors have the additional advantages over soft protectors of:
  • Protection against puncture.
  • Protection against inversion (the interlocking plates will ONLY allow the rider to bend forward, not backwards).

Retailing extremely competitively from £50 - £80 in a full range of sizes, the first batch is understandably selling out rapidly.
