21 year old Airwaves Superbike Scholar Leon Morris, from Stockbridge in Hampshire was in action again last weekend at Donington Park. Have a look at his thoughts on how the weekend went:

I’m really pleased with the way things went at Donington Park, I beat my best time by more than 6 seconds which just goes to show the progress I’ve made in the past few months. It was definitely my best performance yet.

Qualifying was pretty difficult, the conditions were soaking wet and I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m really happy with my performance though, and I think a lot of that’s down to the new 16 ½-inch tyres I was using. They totally transformed the feel of the bike and definitely added to my performance.

In the 1st race I was closer to the other riders than I have ever been before, and I was racing alongside them rather than just following the pack. It felt amazing and I’m thrilled that I finished 20th.

In the 2nd race my performance was really solid and I finished 19th. I am learning more and more as a rider by racing against the best, and the competition with the other riders is definitely helping me improve!

I’m really happy with the progress I’m making with each race. Everything I’ve learnt has helped me to become more consistent and I’m closer to the top riders than ever before. I feel like everything’s steadily coming together and I’m just aiming to maintain this form until the end of the season. It was a cracking weekend for me and I’d like to thank Airwaves, Colin Wright and all the team for all their support.
