Two Husqvarnas got to the podium in the 2nd Supermoto World Championship GP held in Castelletto di Branduzzo, Pavia.

Rain disturbed the various sessions over the race weekend, and put the Supermoto riders to the test. However the conditions didn't seem to hamper the efforts of Belgian two times World Champion Delepine and his teammate Adrien Chareyre.

In the first heat, Adrien immediately managed to take the lead of the race, maintaining the position until the very end, while Delepine entertained the crowd with an amazing recovery ride through the field to finish in third place.

In the second heat, Gerald was third at the chequered flag, ahead of Adrien. The final podium saw the two riders on the second (Adrien) and third (Gerald) podium positions.

Thomas Chareyre didn't have a good weekend though, Thomas did his best to make his way through the field but was struggling and managed to finish the day in fourth position, ahead of the Cross 2R Husqvarna Team rider Sylvain Bidart.

Rider of the day and the biggest surprise of the weekend was 19 years old Finnish rider Mauno Hermunen from the Zupin Husqvana Team. The almost unknown rider making first appearance in Italy and his World Championship debut astonished the riders and the audience with a display of amazing fast riding and showed some incredible bike skills. Mauno was even first in the first S2 heat for a while, but unfortunately a fall made him loose the first position to Adrien Chareyre. The Finnish rider is the leader of the German Supermoto Championship and clearly has a big future ahead of him.
