Since its launch in 2004, JiR has developed the activity of motorcycle sport together with commercial activities putting JiR in the position to offer companies and partners a different service for promotions, marketing and communications. Since JiR's beginning, the prestigious MotoGP world championship has been synonymous with professionalism and dynamism and has provided an excellent way for JiR to grow.
Gianluca Montiron, the founder and CEO of JiR, pursuing the philosophy to "create something different" is proud to announce the programme for the future. This joint sporting venture will see JiR teaming up with the Castelletto di Branduzzo circuit which is located near Pavia. The JiR team will have the track, which is very close to its new premises, at its disposal.
Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of May will see the launch of the new JiR team buildings and infrastructure and it will coincide with a round of the world Supermoto championship. The objective is to create a new 'centre of motorsport' using the new 1,900 metre race track, offices, conference area, showroom, and a huge storage area. This is what makes Castelletto di Branduzzo more than just a race track. It will be the ideal location to organise motorsport events both on two and four wheels. All the on-track activities will be organised by the circuit itself while JiR will concentrate on the incentive and promotion of the project.
In particular, JiR will promote riding schools, both for experienced track riders and for youngsters who simply want to learn basic handling skills. Younger riders will be able to use small and easy to ride Honda machinery, specially imported from Japan by JiR. For more experienced riders, there will be sporting riding schools which will be the natural starting point to learn how to improve riding techniques. These schools will be held under the supervision of two exceptional racers - former 250cc GP world champion Tetsuya Harada and current 250cc GP star Federico Sandi.
All the sporting activities will be dedicated to young riders and the final target is to create new champions for the future. This philosophy is already well represented by the new JiR Junior Team which is already on-track with the Matteo Traversa who is participating in the Italian road race championship and the Honda RS125GP trophy. The next step in the project will be the XR100 JiR Honda trophy which will be co-ordinated by JiR. The first race will be on July 27.
The Castelletto di Branduzzo race track has been modified and renewed to a length of 1,900 metres and has a completely new surface. The track can be split into three different sectors and is homologated for competition and street bikes in category 'C.' Homologation for the 'open' category is currently underway.
The paddock area is divided into three parts; one is 13,000 square metres and there are also two different areas each measuring 6,000 square metres. The circuit is easy to reach, just 50km from Milan and is signposted from the motorways between Milan-Genova and Torino-Piacenza.
For everyone who enjoys speed, JiR has track sessions available with the new Honda CBR600RR painted in the original Konica-Minolta and JiR Team Scot liveries, all fully equipped for use on a racing circuit. For less experienced riders and kids, there are brand new Honda models including the FTR225, the XR100 and the Ape 100. These are suitable for all different ages and riding skills.
