Virgin Media Yamaha rider, BJ Toal will head to Donington Park in Leicestershire to compete in round 4 of the 2008 British Supersport Championship over the Spring Bank Holiday (24th-26th May).

BJ Toal returns to the circuit that saw him clinch the 2007 Virgin Media Cup Championship, and the coveted berth onboard the Supersport machine for this season.

His Championship win was declared after the second Virgin Media Cup race was declared a result and half points allocated to riders after a red flag brought about an early conclusion to the race due to deteriorating conditions and rider safety.

Nick Medd is still suffering from the virus that kept the 28-year old sidelined at Brands Hatch two weeks ago. Nick will sit out the trip to Donington Park, he is still awaiting his extensive test results and hopes for the ‘all clear' from doctors. Nick aims to be back in the saddle to test the Virgin Media Yamaha Supersport YZF-R6 before the fifth round at Snetterton (13-15 June).

BJ ably provided the sole Virgin Media Yamaha onslaught at the re-scheduled opening round (11th May), scoring a career-best fifth place in his first season. The determined ride saw the young Irishman run as high as third during the incident-fuelled race. BJ now stands eighth in the title race, and is poised to build on his position and move inside the top five with another mature run at the weekend.

The action begins with Free Practice on Saturday. Sunday's two qualifying sessions will decide the final grid ahead of Monday's 18-lap Supersport spectacular. scheduled to blast off at 13.50 (26th May).

BJ Toal:

"I was really pleased with my performance at Brands. Finally I got the opportunity to repay the team for all of their hard work this season. I'll be looking for another strong ride at Donington, it's a track that I really enjoy and it holds some special memories for me."

Rob McElnea, Team Principal:

"BJ will be riding high off the back of his strongest performance of the season at Brands. He's made so much progress over the past few months and has really begun to show his true potential. Another strong performance from him this weekend will underpin his late start to the scoreboard and should see him in the top of the championship. It's a shame for Nick to have to miss another round, but best to ensure he is fully fit before taking to the race circuit again. Hopefully he will be given the all clear to test before we get to Snetterton."
