Joe Dickinson heads to Donington Park for the fourth round of the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship over the Spring Bank holiday, intent on adding more points to his championship total (24th-26th May).
The Truck Links Yamaha rider put in a spirited performance from the fourth row of the grid, to finish just outside the top ten at the re-scheduled round at Brands Hatch GP circuit With a renewed confidence in his ability, in part thanks to posting his first points of the season, Joe will look to elevate his Truck Links Yamaha inside the top ten at the culmination of next Monday's 18 lap race.
The fast flowing 2.5-mile Leicestershire circuit should suit the 24-year olds racing style, offering Joe the opportunity to build upon his solid foundation from Brands. Joe has already shown this season that he has a strong wet weather pace, and with the forecast erring on the side of showers, Joe should be in with a chance of a place on the front two rows of the grid for the first time this season.
The action begins with Free Practice on Saturday. Sunday's two qualifying sessions will decide the final grid ahead of Monday's 18-lap Supersport spectacular scheduled to blast off at 13.50 (26th May).
Joe Dickinson:
"I picked up a few points at Brands, and will be looking to pay the team back at Donington with the results that I know the bike and I are capable of. My season may have started three rounds in but I know that I have what it takes to challenge up at the sharp end. As Donington is my home round, I'll be looking for good points on Monday."
Rob McElnea, Team Principal:
"It's good for Joe to pick up some points and start to salvage his Championship. BJ's performance will inspire Joe to be right up there with him at the front of the field. We know that the bike is capable of those results and expect to see Joe start to claim them."
