With a double header in the Henderson Yamaha R1 Cup and a ride in the National Superstock championship, Boston rider Ben Wilson is in for a busy time at Donington Park on Whit Monday.
The first race of the season was postponed because of snow at Brands Hatch in early April and it was decided the R1 Cup riders would be spared the long trip back down to the Kent circuit for the re-run and would have two races at Donington Park instead. Ben Wilson will be hoping to capitalise from this by securing two good results on Monday.
Riding the Yamaha R1which he rode to a fine fifth position at Oulton Park earlier this month Wilson will also contest the National Superstock race at Donington on Monday.
“I have to say a big thank you to my personal sponsors as without their continued support I would not be able to contest the Superstock race at Donington this weekend,” said Wilson.
Last time out at Oulton Park, Wilson completed his R1 Cup race in third place and will be looking to better that in the two races at Donington Park this weekend.
“I have two chances to try and get my first win of the season,” said Wilson. “And believe me I will be trying hard in both races and also the Superstock event.”
Free practice and qualifying take place through Saturday and Sunday with the first 12-lap R1 Cup race scheduled for 11.15am on Monday and the second at 2.40pm. Wilson will have a short break to catch his breath before taking to the grid for the 15-lap Superstock race at 5.50pm.
