Ixon sponsored Metzeler National Superstock 600 rider, Chris Northover will be embarking on an epic voyage with his father, Dave Northover next week. The intrepid pair will attempt to ride from Dover to John O’Groats, south to Lands End and back to Dover again. The 2000 mile trip may seem innocuous to most, except that the Northovers will be riding a pair of iconic Honda C90 mopeds, and the reason for this journey of enlightenment? To raise funds to help Chris compete for the remainder of the 2008 season.

The Team HARIBO Starmix rider has emerged as a title runner in the highly competitive series that launched the careers of many high profile British Superbike riders including Cal Crutchlow, Tom Sykes, Craig Jones and Ben Wilson. Ride Now Racing Ltd, the driving force behind Chris’s success and responsible for the ride with Team HARIBO Starmix, is dedicated to helping young riders achieve their potential through continued grass roots level support and rider development. Ixon prides itself on supporting up and coming riders with product support including high quality race leathers and gloves.

The journey of a lifetime leaves from Dover on Tuesday 27 May, and aims to return to the British port four days and 2000 miles later. Chris Northover: “I have to bring a monetary contribution to the team and this is what I am raising money towards. Race team sponsors Ixon have supplied some of their fantastic road gear to help us survive everything the elements can throw at us and Steve Jordan Motorcycles has kindly supplied one C90 for the trip. I am hoping to raise £1000 - £2000 pounds on this little escapade, to help fund my racing this season!”
