It is with great pleasure that Team Suzuki Alstare would like to announce that Max Neukirchner has agreed terms and has signed a contract with the team for 2009 and 2010.

The young German is one of the rising stars of the Superbike World Championship and his signing is seen as a great coup for the Belgian based outfit.

Speaking last year when he signed his 2008 WSB Championship deal with Alstare, Max said;

"I think that Alstare Suzuki are the best team in the WSBK paddock. They have a great structure, good mechanics and very good support. For me, this is a great opportunity to ride a factory bike and I'm very happy for this chance. I think that the team and I can work together very well and I'm looking forward to starting the job."

"I rode one of the Alstare Suzuki bikes in the last round of the 2007 championship and it was so much better than the bike I had been riding all season. The chassis, handling, brakes and everything else felt so good right from the start of the first practice and I felt at home straightaway. The whole team seemed very friendly and easy to work with, so I think we're going to have a great season in 2008."

"It's hard to predict what will happen in 2008 and of course I'd like to be chasing for the title, but I would be happy to finish in the top five on my first year with the team."

Smart move getting Max into a 2 year extension. I would say next season he'll be going for the title when Bayliss is gone. Lets just hope Suzuki have the package like they do this year.

Very clever by Alstrare, and as a Suzuki fan, I'm chuffed to bits. Max has proven he has what it takes when on a competitive bike. He'd have been snapped up for 2009 otherwise, for sure!
