Taboo Motorsport and its riders Michael Hill and Dan Moreton continued their early season form in the 3rd round of the British 125cc GP Championship at Brands Hatch earlier today.

The grid for the 14 lap race was set at what should have been the opening round of the series so both riders used Saturday’s free practice sessions to further develop their 2008 machines. Both riders lapped over 1.5 seconds faster than when they originally qualified for the event.

Michael Hill who also owns and manages the TABOO Motorsport team began the race from the penultimate row of the grid but the determined Londoner battled hard to claim his 3rd top twenty finish in a row and once again narrowly miss out on the first British Championship points of the season.

”I feel that finally I understand the new machine” exclaimed Michael after the race. “With the continued help of our team’s technician Pete Banks, my FRS kitted Honda continues to improve and although the last 4 or 5 laps the bike didn’t feel as strong I am pleased to be running so close to the points this early in the season. For me the season proper starts at Donington Park” Hill concluded.

The team’s other rider, youngster Dan Moreton faired equally as well bringing his machine home in 23rd position. Dan’s result is even more impressive as he is yet to benefit from the latest FRS engine kit.

“It’s frustrating to lose so much in straight line speed, but hopefully I will have my new kit at Donington and there will be no reason that Michael and I can’t both be fighting for the points” commented the youngster from Cottesbrooke.

The next round of the 125cc British Championship moves to Donington Park over the Bank Holiday weekend in two weeks time where the team hope to have another guest from the World Championship series in attendance.
