Aaron Zanotti, who rides for Red Viper Racing, today won the ‘Airwaves KICK UP A GEAR Award’ for his outstanding performance in the British Superbike Championship round.

Zanotti, who lined up 25th on the grid for the two races at the 2.3 mile Kent circuit, finished 17th in race one and14th in race two, making up a total of 19 places.

The ‘Airwaves KICK UP A GEAR Award’ is presented to the rider who has gained the most places from their qualifying position at each race over the course of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship season.

Throughout the season each rider will receive points equal to the number of places gained at the end of each race.

The most points accumulated throughout the season, over 12 rounds, determines the overall ‘Airwaves KICK UP A GEAR Award’ winner who will receive a cheque for £4,000 from Wrigley’s Airwaves.

Toby Baker, Wrigley Marketing Director, said:

“Wrigley is delighted to support the Bennetts British Superbike Championship and develop the ‘Airwaves KICK UP A GEAR Award’. Fans love watching exciting racing which is epitomized by the twists and turns of the track and overtaking of the riders. We want to be at the heart of competitive racing and provide something for all riders in the championship to aim for.

“The award also clearly supports our Airwaves ‘KICK UP A GEAR’ brand vision which we feel is perfectly suited to the high octane and adrenaline fueled sport of motorcycling.

“Aaron Zanotti’s performance today was absolutely outstanding and he’s a thoroughly deserving winner of the ‘Airwaves KICK UP A GEAR Award’”.
