Jerez & Ascari Two Day CampsIn addition to our yearly pilgrimage to the superbly technical Circuito de Jerez, we are very excited to announce that we have added Ascari Race Resort to our calendar. Some of you may already be familiar with the circuit as it is a favourite with Top Gear and appears frequently as a location for tests. Ascari is described as a 5star Race Resort and certainly lives up to its name - from the exclusive clubhouse to the swimming pool, showering facilities and a stunning 5.4Km race track with every type of turn you can imagine. click

We have already sold half of the places on each of the camps to clients that attended Almeria back in March - you will need make a decision quickly if you would like to attend.
The course includes 2 nights half board hotel accommodation, lunch and refreshments at the circuit. Partners and family are very welcome. The hotel at Jerez is the 4star Tryp hotel in town - At Ascari we are staying in Ronda at the 4star Husa Reina Victoria. Both locations are perfect for shopping and sightseeing...

The season so far by Andy IbbottCrikey, what a season it has been and we have only had four races!
Good luck/bad luck...
Sandro has been convinced that the bad luck Pasini had last year has followed him this season. He does have most of Pasini’s old team of mechanics so I can understand why he might think this. There have been brakes failing and engine’s seizing but in spite of this he still get’s on with trying to get up to speed and not worry that the bike could spit him off at a moment’s notice.
It does make both his job and my job much harder though. When I need him to be thinking of braking markers, he is wondering if they will work or not this time.
But, when it comes down to the racing he is doing well and making up huge amounts of places from poor starting positions. So far he has managed to obtain 17 points (last year for the season he got 6 points and finished 14th overall) and is in 10th place in the World 125 standings. His race in China was the best of the season – until the last lap! I did think he was going to be 4th but a crash with 3 corners to go meant he finished 16th. This was not bad luck but rider error!
So close and yet so far...Thomas has had a better season and with a new suspension guy (Paul, the Kiwi who did Lorenzo last year) is making good progress – if we ignore the jump start in Qatar!
Jerez was not brilliant with the crash but lessons have been learnt and plans put into place to try and prevent that from happening again. Estoril was, without a doubt his best race of the season so far but again, a better start plan could have meant he was fighting with Simoncelli and Kallio in the final few laps.
That podium spot has been so close last season and again, so close this season. The plan is of course to get him on one of those top three places as soon as we can. The key will be to make him more consistent in the Free Practice sessions. This will help the engineers set the bike up better and the suspension guys do the same with the springs and damping. He has an advantage because he will not be testing prototype bits and pieces this year as he had to for most of last year. China was a good weekend, ok, so the result, a DNF was not good but the work on RPs and getting consistent was going very, very well in the 2 days of practise before. Debon has still not come over to say sorry for taking Thomas out yet.
Podiums, here we come!
