Joe Dickinson struggled to make an impact during the third round of the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship at Oulton Park today (5th May).

The Truck Links Yamaha rider posted his highest qualifying of the season to line up on the Cheshire grid in 11th. However, Joe could not capitalise on his position and found himself languishing down in 15th as the red flag waved a premature stop to proceedings as early as the start of the fourth lap.

With the track rapidly drying out, Joe struggled with the grip longevity of his Pirelli tyres. Battling with Midge Smart and Paul Young over the closing stages, the 25-year old narrowly missed out on his first point scoring finish of the season, crossing the finish line in 17th for the second race in succession.

Joe will now look ahead to the re-scheduled opening round at Brands Hatch GP next weekend, 10th/11th May, to turn his season round.

Rob McElnea, Team Principal:

"Joe is struggling to get his confidence this season, we all know what he and the bike are capable of. Joe ran well in the wet conditions but hasn't quite found the pace in the dry yet. Brands gives Joe another opportunity to re-visit a circuit that he has already ridden on the bike, he still has time to turn his season around."

Race Result:

1) Richards (Triumph)
2) Kennaugh (Yamaha)
3) Lowry (Suzuki)
4) Martin (Kawasaki)
5) Brogan (Honda)
17 ) Joe Dickinson (Truck Links Yamaha)

Championship Standings:

1) Richards - 45
2) Brogan - 36
3) Kennaugh - 33
4) Martin - 29
5) Lowry - 27
