
Talented Irishman Martin Finnegan has tragically lost his life competing in the Tandragee 100 event this weekend.
Finnegan who was competing for the JMF Millsport Yamaha team died in the accident at Marlacoo Corner. Finnegan had earlier won the opening race of the day which was his 43rd road race victory of his career.
Tributes have been pouring in for the 29 year old from Lusk. "He was a really nice guy who was well-respected by his peers and someone with a true talent for road racing," - Barry Symons
The Motorcycle Union of Ireland chairman Alan Drysdale described Finnegan as "one of the star riders of recent years."
Three spectators were injured in the accident, we have no information at present about the condition of the spectators but other sites have reported that none of the injuries suffered by the spectators were thought to be life threatening, we wish them all a swift recovery.
The race meeting was abandoned after the accident as a sign of respect.
