The first qualifying session for the 250cc class today and Yuki Takahashi made excellent progress from the morning to the afternoon session. The team has already made the first tyre choice for the race and worked hard on the overall configuration for tomorrow’s very important qualifying session as the team and rider aims for a good race on Sunday. The Honda RS250RW of JiR Team Scot was able to show that their lap times were very consistent and one of the major targets for tomorrow will be also to make more improvements in race configuration for Sunday.

Gianni Berti – Technical Coordinator, JiR Team Scot

“In this first qualifying session all the team has worked hard and done a very good job. The morning session showed us the area we needed to improve in and which modifications had to be done and this is why we were easily in the top ten. Tomorrow we will concentrate on finding the proper set-up so we can achieve a very good position on the starting grid for Sunday’s race.”

“In this first day I spent it alone on track not following other riders. My target was to choose the tyres for tomorrow. I ended the day in a good provisional position but obviously I want to do better. This is not one of my favourite tracks, so tomorrow I will look at the other competitors and work on my lines through the corners on the track in a bid to improve my times. With my Honda bike I’m very strong on the twisty parts of the circuit but the more critical point is the speed exiting the corner, which then sends you down the main straight. We have to verify some things on the chassis settings, but I’m sure we can be strong tomorrow.”

Yutaka Hirano – Chief Technician, JiR Team Scot

“We did a good job with Yuki today. For tomorrow and the race I feel we have found the correct rear tyre and we now have to decide between two different front tyres. We will work again on chassis settings and suspension settings tomorrow so I do expect that we will do better, especially in race pace configuration.”
