Truck Links Yamaha Supersport rider, Joe Dickinson is looking to kick-start his season at Oulton Park this Bank Holiday weekend, at round 3 of the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship (3-5 May).
The 24 year old from Clowne in Derbyshire had a disappointing meeting at Thruxton two weeks ago. Missing most of the second Qualifying session due to an early crash, Joe tried to make the most of his fifth row start. Despite his valiant efforts, Joe could only take the chequered flag in 17th, just outside of the point scoring positions.
On his last visit to the undulating 2.692mile Cheshire circuit, Joe proved his wet weather riding ability by qualifying in 13th before securing tenth across the finish line.
The weekend's action begins with Free Practice on Saturday, followed by two 35-minute Qualifying sessions on Sunday afternoon. Joe will line up on the grid for the 16-lap race on Monday 5 May, scheduled for a 14.40 start.
Joe Dickinson: "I'm looking forward to Oulton Park. Lets see if we can have a little more luck this time and try to stay on the bike. The team and the bike are working well, now it's up to me to do the rest."
Rob McElnea, Team Principal: "Not sure why Joe did not deliver at Thruxton, he really did not settle down, we know the Truck Links Yamaha is very competitive and have good info from last season. Joe loves Oulton Park and we have a few new settings to try and a few track walks planned! Joe can run at the front and we will not stop pushing until we get him there."
