With the second round of the British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park just a few days away, Team Appleyard/Macadam is primed and ready for action.

At the last round at Thruxton, Deane Brown led the GP125 race and was in contention for top honours but failed to finish so he is eager to make amends at the Cheshire circuit. With his season in BSB GP125 being mixed with a regular ride in the Red Bull Moto GP Rookies Cup, Deane is already having a busy season but is riding extremely well, especially considering that he has only just celebrated his 15th birthday.

Ashley Beech knows Oulton Park very well and has achieved good scoring positions in the past when he rode GP125 machines for the Team. Now on a Yamaha R6, Ashley is competently adapting to his new bike and is hoping for a strong result this coming weekend. He said; “We’re learning something new all the time on the 600 so we’re playing catch-up a little but the package is coming together so I’m looking to improve on my Thruxton result.”

In his second ride on the Team Appleyard/Macadam GP125 machine, Cheshire rider Jordan Thompson is also hoping for a better result at his ‘home’ circuit; “I’m still getting used to my 125 but, unlike Thruxton, I have raced here before so am hoping to put in a much stronger performance this weekend.”

Summarising, Team Manager Robin Appleyard said; “We are coming to Oulton Park off the back of what was a learning weekend for the team at Thruxton with two new riders and one new bike in the team for the first time. However, the Team has always had good results at Oulton so I’m hoping we’ll be able to repeat that form this Bank Holiday Monday.”
