The Annual Dirt Bike Show set to take place earlier than normal this year, 13th – 16th of November at Stoneleigh Park, have managed to secure the services of the World renowned Purple Helmets. The crazy group of bikers have been booked by the show to appear for the full duration to entertain the crowd and exhibitors alike in the Live Action Arena.
The infamous Purple Helmets were set up a number of years ago and consist of a team of residents from the Isle of Man who set up their very own ‘unique’ stunt team. They have been demonstrating their ‘talents’ at various different events over the years and this year are pleased to be making a return appearance at the Dirt Bike Show.
Dressed in their military long brown coats and riding their Honda C70’s and C90’s, be prepared to be amused at the antics of the The Purple Helmets. Entertaining thousands of people over the years at the Isle of Man TT races they are sure to be a great hit at the Show.
One of the of the Show, Dave Watson from Promoto, was delighted about the prospect of having the Purple Helmets at the show commenting “The Purple Helmets were at the Dirt Bike Show in the early years and they proved very popular and entertaining with visitors. It's great that they will be back in 08.”
The Dirt Bike Show stand space is quickly filling up with top exhibitors from all across the motorcycle industry and it is once again looking set to be another successful Off Road Show. As this year the Show falls before this year’s NEC bike show it will give fans and customers the opportunity to see the 2009 range before they see it anywhere else.
Statistics from 2007 show that 40% of visitors attended the Dirt Bike Show purely to see new models, with it falling early this season it should add to the excitement and add a huge amount of interest to the Off Road Community and further a field.
The Show achieved their biggest crowds in their nine year running last season and with celebrities such as Stefan Everts and Billy Mackenzie attending from the Off Road World and Superbike stars Troy Corser and Cal Crutchlow merging in with the crowds, all this added to the atmosphere of the Show.
