The company from Vicenza has been appointed Official Safety Partner of the legendary race that has been run since 1907 on the Isle of Man in England. In order to close the important sponsorship deal, the two most important superbike races of the Tourist Trophy (TT) to be held on May 31st and June 7th will be renamed The Isle of Man Dainese Superbike Race and The Isle of Man Dainese Senior TT Race.

The TT will be the first “Italian Legendary Protection” event: a project that Dainese has been developing together with AGV with the objective of communicating and celebrating the long tradition that both Italian companies share in motorcycle racing history in terms of protection and safety. This will provide the occasion for the presentation of the new Giacomo Agostini Replica helmet that takes its design and mythic graphics made famous by Agostini during a career with no less than 122 Grand Prix victories,  15 world championship titles and 10 victories here in the Tourist Trophy, a record that still stands today.

Dainese will organize an exciting series of events during the two weeks of competition. An exclusive exhibition open to the public of some of the most important racing suits in history selected from the over 600 stored in the Dainese archives that protected champs the likes of Barry Sheene, Kevin Schwantz, Giacomo Agostini, Kenny Roberts, Valentino Rossi and others will be set up in Douglas, the biggest town on the Isle. In addition to racing suits, a number of precious historical AGC helmets will be placed on display.

Together with these monuments of Dainese success in the past, D-air® racing drawings will be placed on display, the symbol of technological innovation and progress achieved in protection research together with the Biosuit space suit that the company is developing for NASA together with Boston’s prestigious MIT. The past, present, and future of protection will be presented for the first time together outside Italy for this special occasion.

What’s more, in order to give everybody the chance to experience the Tourist Trophy’s mythical feeling, Dainese will be organizing a contest for the members of its own online Community that counts more than 55 thousand members in nations all around the world. The eleven lucky names drawn at random will fly to the Isle of Man together with a friend as Dainese guests to watch the 2008 TT Superbike race and the incredible Mad Sunday from the VIP paddock in the company of historic Dainese riders like Giacomo Agostini and Carl Fogarty. Dainese has also decided to sponsor Guy Martin, the racer in the English Superbike championship who finished second in last year’s Isle of Man Dainese Superbike Race. The 25 year old racer from Lincolnshire, one of the favourite bets to beat 2007 winner John McGuinness, will work with Dainese on the development of the road version of the D-air®: “The telemetric system Guy will be using during the TT time trials and race will give us the chance to collect important data for the ongoing improvement of the road version of the D-air® already in a good initial stage of development” they say at Dainese.
