Joe Dickinson will this weekend put behind him the frustrations of the abandoned opening round at Brands Hatch as he heads for the Hampshire circuit of Thruxton for round two of the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship (18-20 April).

The 24 year old from Clowne in Derbyshire was widely tipped as a pre-season favourite for Supersport honours and his initial lap times at brands Hatch proved that the partnership between Rob Mac Racing and Truck Links could prove to be very fruitful for all concerned.

Thruxton offers Joe the opportunity to kick-start his contention for the title in style. 2007 offered a glimpse of the Yamaha YZF-R6s potential round the UKs fastest circuit, and if Joe continues his promising pre-season testing form he will be knocking on the podium positions come Sunday afternoon.

The weekend's action commences with Free Practice on Friday, followed by the two Qualifying sessions on Saturday. British Eurosport will be screening all of the 18-lap action live when the lights go out at 14.35 on Sunday 20 April.

Joe Dickinson:

"Brands proved to be a frustrating weekend for us, not just because of the weather but with a difficult Qualifying session that left me down on the middle of the fourth row it was probably a godsend! I know that I've got the pace and the team and bike are all working well, so hopefully things will improve this time out."

Rob McElnea, Team Principal:

"Joe Dickinson, riding the Trucklinks Yamaha within my team, is the man many have tipped to be fighting for podiums this season. Joe spent the last few years being the thorn in the side of the factory bikes as a privateer and now has a chance to join them and really show his potential. The new 2008 Yamaha Supersport bike should be a missile through the fast sections of this track and I can see Joe really having a lot of fun this weekend."
