James Buckingham got off to a promising start to the British Superbike Cup at Brands Hatch, qualifying at the front of all the ‘privateer’ riders (and half a dozen factory riders too), on his Q8Oils lubricated Quay Garage Honda Fireblade.

His sterling effort, which placed him 16th on the grid, appeared to be in vain when round one of the British Superbike championship was cancelled due to heavy snowfall throughout the Sunday morning that prevented any track activity from taking place.  However, the Race Director announced that the meeting will be rescheduled for 10/11th May and that the original grid positions will stand.

“We went to Brands for the first round and we were to use it as a test, as James hasn't really had any testing time on the bike this season,” comments  Ian Woolacott, Quay Garage Team Principal.

“I was very impressed with the way James rode this weekend and very pleased to see James back to his old confident self,” he continues.

The lubricants used by the team are blended in Q8Oils' purpose-built plant in Leeds, just like the Q8Oils range of MOTO SBK oils that are available to road riders.

Quay Garage Racing and James Buckingham will go to Thruxton for round two on 20th April in a positive mood.
