Lloyds British backed Jentin Racing Team were disappointed today, Sunday 6th April when the first round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship was forced to be cancelled due to six inches of snow hitting South East Circuit of Brands Hatch. Rider Simon Andrews was unfortunate not to be able to race, as strong performances from him throughout the weekend were showing that he was able to mix it with the factory backed teams at the front of the pack.

The race has now been rescheduled for the 10th and 11th May back at Brands and Andrews will keep the qualifying position he secured yesterday, Saturday 5th April of seventh position on the grid. Andrews was running strong throughout practice and in the final practice session on Saturday morning he was sitting comfortably in fourth place.

With very little testing time under his belt he was pleased with his achievement saying "It's a real shame that the race was cancelled as I was really looking forward to trying to get some good results for the team. We've had a few issues throughout the weekend yet we still managed to set good times so I'm really pleased with that knowing that there is still more to come. We've done very little testing so we had a lot to try and sort out at Brands Hatch, we made some huge steps forward which is a good sign and hopefully it will continue through the year. Let's hope that the weather is kind to us for Thruxton and that we can get on with some racing."

Team Manager Bernie Toleman said

"It's been a strong weekend and good start for the team, we were looking forward to the two races on Sunday but sadly it had to be called off for safety reasons, understandably. We have just received the new Yamaha's so we are finding out what aspects we can change on it to suit Simon's riding style in the aim to score some consistent results through the year. Thruxton is in a few weeks time and hopefully we will have made a few more alterations to the bike before then and we're eager to get some good Championship points under our belt."
