The 2008 British Superbike series fires into action this weekend and Phoenix, the official UK importers of Arai, are pleased to announce that the world's leading helmet brand will be supporting some of the top competitors in UK motorcycle road racing.
Leading the charge for glory in British Superbike will be Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow, aboard the HM Plant Honda CBR1000 RR Fireblade. Leon has been using Arai since his racing career started and Cal is now in his second year with the brand, both have replicas available on the Viper model in the current Arai range and both are super fast, super focused and ready for the championship fight.
Cal Crutchlow's old seat at Rizla Suzuki has been filled by Arai Japan sponsored Atsushi Watanabe. Watanabe is the 2 x Japanese Superbike champion and is guaranteed to thrill as he gets to learn the circuits and takes his career to the next level.
Last years Phoenix/Arai supported riders Jonathan Rea and Chris Walker have both progressed to World Supersport and will be missed in the BSB series this year. They both look forward to huge support from home fans at the UK rounds of the WSS championship.
Leading the challenge for Arai in British Supersport will be BJ Toal, the 2007 R6 Cup champion, who will ride the Virgin Media Yamaha R6 and Steve Brogan who will be on the HM Plant supported Honda in both Supersport and Superstock.
The Isle of Man TT races moves into its second century in 2008 with a line-up that includes Arai-backed racers like local hero Conor Cummins, sidecar legend Dave Molyneux, TT winners Bruce Anstey and Ian Hutchinson, and real roads specialist, Guy Martin. Martin is arguably one of the few riders capable of beating 2007 record-breaker John McGuinness around the Island and all eyes will be on the TT in June.
Phoenix will be at the IOM TT, and at BSB, plus NW 200 events in 2008 too, with the Arai race support vehicle, offering 5 star service to sponsored racers, and customers.
