Weather conditions remained good at Jerez de la Frontera for the second day of work on the Spanish circuit. First 1008 MotoGP European qualifying session ended with the Alice Team that conquered the sixteenth and the seventeenth position on the starting grid. Spanish rider Toni Elias has concluded in front of his team-mate, Frenchman Sylvain Guintoli, for just over half of a second. Tomorrow, on the Andalusia circuit, great enthusiasm for the twenty-second Spanish Grand Prix ridden in Jerez with the weather forecast that promises perfect climatic conditions.

Fabiano Sterlacchini – Technical Director

“We have tried many things today with some positive solutions, but we expected something more because at the end we are at the end of the starting grid. We aren’t so far away from the best Bridgestone riders, but we have a lot of work to do. We must absolutely improve. With Toni (Elias) is very difficult to understand where the problems are, because he has a completely different riding style compare to the others. In comparison to all the data we have in Ducati, he rides in a different way and it’s difficult to compare the information we collect. We must remain trustful. Together we will find the right way.”

Toni Elias – Alice Team Rider (16th best lap time in 1’40.286 – Total laps 20)

“I didn’t expect to qualify like this in Jerez. I am too behind in the standings, in front of my team-mate and the other Ducati ridden by Marco (Melandri). We have to work to improve. Personally things went a bit better compared to yesterday, but of course is not enough. Tomorrow it will be a hard race. We can’t change the world in one day. With patience I am sure that we will be able to find the solution to our difficulties.”

Sylvain Guintoli – Alice Team Rider (17th best lap time in 1’40.939 – Total laps 21)

“We have taken some small step forward, but seen the classification I can’t tell it was enough. This morning it didn’t go well, but in the afternoon, with the qualifying tyres, I improved my best lap time by two seconds. This is probably the only positive thing of the day. It’s a bit frustrating, but I am taking too much time to adapt to the bike. I am doing all it is possible as always and I hope that some good result will come soon for me and the Team.”
