Motorcycle racer Dean Thomas has just announced his retirement from British Superbike racing after a successful 10 year career. Dean, who has been riding for various teams this year, is to front his own two man team, as Team Manager next season in British Supersport. This new team will be called Mission Racing. Dean, along with his business partner have confirmed Sam Warren and Nick Medd  to ride for their 2008 team.

Mission Racing’s Sam Warren and Nick Medd will be riding the latest Rob McElnea specification 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6’s. Sam, (25) from Derbyshire, is the 2006 Supermoto Champion, and carries much expertise along with him from his extremely ruthless Off-roading background. His new team mate, Nick (27) from Hull is no stranger to the Superbike scene as he is a former contender.

Current British Superstock Cup contender, Tom Clegg steps up to ride a Mission Junior Superstock bike in the brand new 2008 Junior Superstock Championship.

Dean is said to be very excited, and has been working extra hard with everyone involved to get everything in place before the 2007 season finished.

Nik Ellwood, who is the Mission Racing Team Principal, has stated that 1% of all of their sponsorship cash will be donated to the Chris Jones Memorial Fund and has invited other teams to match his donation.

You will be able to meet Dean and the Mission Racing Team at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC in Birmingham (22nd November – 2nd December).

The 2008 British Supersport Championship has been provisionally announced by the MCRCB as a 12 round championship, commencing at Brands Hatch on 4-6 April.
