19-year-old Pete Spalding created history at the weekend by maintaining a 100% record throughout the British Supersport Cup Season. Spalding took his twelfth win from twelve starts at the final round of the British Supersport Cup Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend, 29th September - 1st October.

The youngster from New Milton has completely dominated this season and has taken the Centurion Racing Team to their first Championship win. From the off-set Spalding took control and knew what he had to do, his results have improved at every race and the talented rider finished the season at Brands Hatch on a high after gaining sixth position in the overall Supersport race.

After his best qualifying position all season of eighth place, Spalding was eager to better this position in the race. After frequent rain showers throughout the day Supersport race was declared a wet race even though the circuit was evidently dry.

Spalding struggled to get off the line and fell down to 10th position into the first corner. It was not long before he was making his way through the field and looking extremely strong and confident on his Dunlop-shod Honda CBR. Experienced riders Jamie Robinson, Jay Vincent and Kieran Murphy all crashed out due to the slippery conditions and a tidy manoeuvre on James Hiller saw Spalding take a comfortable sixth place.

A delighted Spalding said, "I'm over the moon with the way things have gone this season. The Centurion Team are fantastic and have helped me so much this year. I would like to thank everyone involved, the full team, my family and friends who have supported me over the last few years. I can't wait for next season where I will be running with Centurion again but in the main Supersport Class."

Team Manager Gary Stubbington commented "I'd like to back up Pete's comments and thank everyone but I would also like to congratulate Pete on such a fantastic performance this year. He's consistently run well and has finished in the overall Supersport Championship in joint 11th place which is a brilliant achievement for us all and gives us all a good indication for next season."

Pictures are of Pete Spalding during qualifying where he destroyed his 06 bike and had to ride his 05 bike during the race where he maintained his 100% winning record and won the Supersport Cup Race and finished a fantastic 6th in the Main Supersport race.
