German rider Dominic Lammert used his local knowledge to superb advantage and won the Suzuki GSX-R European Cup race at the Eurospeedway Lausitz. Lammert had been fastest in dry qualifying and had taken pole for the 11-lap race and looked in control of the race, despite the close attentions of Patric Muff and Steven Michels. His win today, gives him a nine point advantage over Frenchman Emeric Jonchiere, with Ismael Ortega a further four points adrift.

its always great to win races and its always special to win in your home country. I know the track well and I really like racing here, so its great to get the win. This championship has only one round to go, but it is by no means over. Nine points is nothing really and all it would take is one little slip or mistake. I know I have to keep my concentration if I want to win. It is my aim and I shall be going all-out in the next round at Magny-Cours to achieve it.
