'The Everyman Campaign' has teamed up with 'Trackstar-Racing' to raise awareness of male cancer in the UK through the huge media coverage of British Superbikes. Trackstar-Racing will be fielding a new and exciting British Superbike and Superstock team supported by MV Agusta. The team is backed by various celebrities from film, music and sport who will attend the races through the British Superbike (BSB) 2007 calendar and help promote The Everyman Campaign.

The team has pledged its support to The Everyman Campaign during 2007 by holding special events, dinners and charity auctions to raise money to fund vital new research to find better treatments and methods of diagnosis for male cancer.

Trackstar Racing showed it's support to Everyman Campaign during a recent fundraising event held at the SW Nineteen Bar in Wimbledon Village by Alex Best, Danielle Lloyd, Charlotte Mears, Lizzie Cundy and Page 3 girls Nicola T and Leilani. The night’s entertainment kicked off with an amazing fashion show featuring clothes from the Diab'less '07 spring collection and ended with a charity auction. With various items up for grabs including John Terry's signed England football shirt and a holiday to Mexico, Trackstar-Racing donated a set of full race leathers, helmet and gloves which made over £1,500 to to help fund vital new research to find better treatments and methods of diagnosis for male cancer.

Trackstar-Racing's superbike rider Brian McCormack said: “If you think racing at speeds reaching 200mph on two wheels is scary, think about the risks of having cancer. What I and thousands of guys don’t think about is that male cancer is one of the biggest killers of men in the United Kingdom. It is important we should know the facts about testicular and prostate cancer, which is why the team and I are fully committed to raising awareness”.

Male cancer affects over 30,000 men in the UK every year. Testicular cancer is the most common cancer to affect men aged 15 to 45 years old. The incidence of the disease has risen dramatically in the past 20 years and there are now around 2,000 new cases diagnosed every year. Caught early enough it has a 99% cure rate.

Every year more than 10,000 men die of prostate cancer. It has now overtaken lung cancer to become the most common cancer in men. More money is desperately needed to help improve diagnosis and treatments.

“We are very exited that Trackstar-Racing is supporting The Everyman Campaign. It takes a lot of balls to ride a superbike, but helping to raise awareness of male cancer takes a different type of courage.

“Working together we will be able to raise money and awareness that will ultimately save lives,” said Hannah Crabtree from The Everyman campaign.

The Everyman Campaign is run by The Institute of Cancer Research to raise awareness of, and fund research into, testicular and prostate cancer at The Everyman Centre – Europe’s first and only research centre dedicated to male cancer.
