Suzuki GB PLC and the Isle of Man Department of Tourism & Leisure are pleased to announce an exclusive global rights agreement that will see Suzuki build and sell the official limited edition TT Centenary machines for next year’s prestigious event. Celebrating 100 years of the world’s most famous road races, Suzuki GB, with the kind permission of the Isle of Man government, will build no fewer than three Suzuki special edition TT centenary models during 2007.

Centred round the iconic GSX-R range, the three limited editions will be based on the GSX-R1000, 750 and 600 models with a unique specification and new colour schemes for the UK market.

Suzuki GB managing director Yasuharu Osawa commented, “We are delighted to reach this global agreement in such an important year for the TT. For Suzuki, the TT is very special, as we are still the only manufacturer to have a Japanese rider win here – Mr Itoh in 1963. The models on offer will represent the true spirit of Suzuki and the TT event as a whole, and for every model purchased we will donate £100 to the continuation of safety improvements on the Island.”

Each special edition model will be available in limited quantities and equipped with a unique numbered plaque. Further details of the GSX-R TT Centenary range will break cover in early 2007.

Note - interesting fact: Mr Itoh won the 50cc class in 1963, setting an impressive average speed of 78.81 MPH! In a class that ran for seven years, Suzuki was victorious on four occasions.
