Casey Stoner’s and Ducati’s fantastic triumph in this year’s MotoGP championship will be celebrated with a special event organized in Piazza Maggiore, Bologna on Sunday, December 2nd.
The date was finalized yesterday with the Bologna City Council, the provincial and the Emilia-Romagna regional authorities. Preparations are already underway for the event, which will clearly revolve around the famous ‘Ducati red’ colour that distinguishes bikes from the Borgo Panigale factory.
The main stage will feature the Ducati Desmosedici GP7, the bike that dominated this years’ edition of the World MotoGP Championship, and which brought back to Italy a title that has been won by the Japanese manufacturers every year since 1973.
The Ducati MotoGP Team’s young Australian star, Casey Stoner, who stormed to this year’s Riders’ crown and who helped win the Constructors’ title for Ducati, is scheduled to appear on stage, together with engineers, mechanics and team members. The event has been organised so that the Italian company can share this fantastic victory with the city of Bologna, its inhabitants and all the passionate Ducati fans who will be arriving for the occasion.
The event programme, details of which will be announced closer to the date, will almost certainly revolve around an evening of entertainment for all fans of bikes and motorcycling, as well as the multitude of friends and supporters that the Ducati brand can boast in the worlds of show business and sport in general. Celebrations will begin on Saturday 1st December with a ‘paddock area’ set up in Piazza Maggiore, where it will be possible to have a look at the world of Ducati Corse.
