The Centurion Racing Team enjoyed a successful four days at the London MCN bike show held at the Excel last weekend. The team took time out from their busy preparation for the new season, where they are running Dennis Hobbs, James Westmoreland and Dan Cooper in the British Supersport series, to give their support to the London show.
The Centurion team, as always, had fantastic stand on display, which stood out and looked professional in amongst the other stands and fitted in well. With this being Centurions first big bike show they were keen to make a good and lasting impression. With three of their Honda CBR600’ on display in full race colours, plus the addition of all three riders attending the show, signing autographs and PR material, everyone was extremely pleased with how it all went.
Dennis Hobbs was a guest speaker on the MCN Stage with Cal Crutchlow, Leon Haslam, Johnny Rea, Craig Jones and Tommy Hill and were being interviewed by ex ITV commentator Barry Nutley. Dennis Hobbs was also selected to be on the panel to choose this season’s MCN Babe Squad, something which he was obviously very upset about doing! The Babes were then modelling on the Centurion stand having their pictures taken with the riders and their race bikes.
Lucy Jones was one of the main attractions on the Centurion stand and was present for the four days as the Centurion Promotional girl; she was also selected to join the riders whilst they were being interviewed on the stage. The team were granted the opportunity to catch up with some old faces and also meet some new ones plus some potential sponsors that will hopefully back the team and help support them in the future.
With Centurion competing in the British Supersport class this year, they have much bigger plans. As in 2009 they will be going to the World Championship scene and competing in the ultra elite World Supersport Championship under the Centurion banner, a prospect the entire team are looking forward to. With their future plans set they are keen to enjoy a good, safe and successful 2008 season with their three young riders.
They travel to Spain towards the end of February for their first test on the Pirelli tyres and will under-go a crucial nine day testing scheme before their first British test, and then with the first race at Brands Hatch on the 6th April.
