The second Supermoto World Championship’s round was held on the spectacular circuit of Villars Sous Ecot, France. The Husqvarna riders of the Husqvarna CH Supermoto Team and the Husqvarna SIMA team have monopolized the GP, winning in both S1 and S2 classes.

In the S2 class, Adrien Chareyre took control of race 1, checking Eddy Seel’s moves until he made a mistake that aloowed Adrien to get on top of the lines. In race 2, Adrien made a perfect start that bounced him immediately on first position until the very end. “Today was the perfect day for me to improve my skills and get some points in the classification, but I did not expect to win both races, the GP round and to conquer the first place in the provisional S2 classificaton! In race 1 I was focused on avoiding any mis take, then I saw Eddy in troubles and I immediately took advantage of the situation. In race 2 it was much easier. Since from the start I knew I could maintain the rhythm right until the chequered flag”. Adrien’s success was completed by another Chareyre: Thomas.

The youngest rider of the World Championship, in fact, closed the day on the 3rd final place, thanks to the second position conquered in race 2, right behind his brother. Not a lucky day for Davide Gozzini: the Italian rider was 10th in race 1 and, due to a techcical problem of his SMR 450 engine, 18th in race 2. In the S1 class, Gerald Delepine took the revenge he was planning since the bad performance of the Italian GP. Gerald rode a perfect race, obtaining the pole position on Saturday and winning the two races on Sunday. “We all did a huge work on the bike set up. After race 1 I knew I could have pushed more, so in race 2 I waited for the perfect moment to pass Goetz and then I opened the gas. I really wanted to get those points I lost at the first round in Italy. Now I’m back on the way to the World Title, exactly where I wanted to be”. Delepine’s team and class mate, Ivan Lazzarini, did not find a feeling with the French circuit, on which rained a lot for the whole week end. The Italian rider, even did not get any further than the 5th place, is still on the second position in the provisional classification with only 9 points form Bernd Hiemer, leader of the S1 class.

Remarkable performance for the French Husqvarna Sima rider Maxime Testu: the rider from Nice got the 5th place overall on his Husqvarna SMR 510. The next Supermoto World Championship round will be held on June 25th on the Melk circuit, Austria.
