Completing a hat-trick of 'Seaside Specials', Ace Cafe London have been working closely with Thanet District Council to bring you the 'Margate Meltdown', to be held on Spring Bank Holiday Monday 26th May 2008. The run will depart from the cafe at 10.30 am - route: A406/A13/M25/M2/A299/A28 to Margate and its seafront, with roads closed off especially for the event.
The Meltdown, which includes being in aid of the charity Jeans For Genes (J4G), is the cafe's chosen charity for 2008 and extends the programme of Ace Cafe London events to this popular Kentish resort. With excellent resources, pubs, restaurants, entertainment, as well as a superb beach, Margate has everything a great ride-out requires!
Ace Cafe London is committed to raising £100,000 for J4G to create 'The Genetic Roadmap', that will help doctors at the Institute of Child Health (the research arm of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital) to understand more about the causes, treatments and cures for genetic disorders, as well as proving much needed laboratory equipment and facilities.
Some fun activities are being planned to reach this goal, to include helicopter, jet ski and RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) rides, plus charity races with 8-wheeled thrills n' spills from the London Rockin' Rollers, who will steal your hearts and then your con rods!

As well as trade, club and industry stands and displays, also being planned are a 'Culture Zone' tracing the history of the Ace, the Rockers and cafe racers from the early 1950s, a stunt arena, plus DJs & live music with The Unknowns + Carlos & The Bandidos, and last but not least, a Mods n' Rockers beach football match, so dust off those Parka's' n' Leather's for a friendly kickabout!
