Words by Rob Barber

Tuesday night qualifying started on time. I went out on the MTC Exhaust 750 first tonight as I wonted to get comfortable before trying the Robinsons of Rochdale triumph with the suspension changes.  The weather looked good so I think we where going to get a clear night with out any rain. The 750 again was working well and I was concentrating on a couple of sections Glen Helen, 11th to 13th mile stone, and Bishopcourt.  Every lap I do I feel better in places. Second lap on the 750 we got slowed down by crash at Lorrel bank and waterworks. Every session I’ve been out in people keep crashing in the same place. I think I’ll keep it easy through them. A couple of friend where watching at the gooseneck so I was beeping the horn. I was really enjoying it.

Next out was the Robinsons of Rochdale Triumph and after hardening the rear preload up, we seem to be going in the right direction. It was still evident in the really bumpy sections. This bike does sound awesome. The island seems to be filling up with fans now.  After my 2 laps on this Triumph I got back to the holding area with 2 mins before the end of the session so I went out for one last lap on the MTC exhaust 750, I was the last on the road. I was going really well until my visor steamed up over the mountain.

Anyway I went faster on my first lap on the MTC Exhaust 750 I did it in 20.42min 109.342mph. On the Robinsons of Rochdale Triumph on the second lap I did 20.50mins 108.609Mph. So not bad there still more to come. I will update you tomorrow how tonight goes.

Please have a look at the pictures of what greated my mechanics when they come to clean the air box on the MTC Exhaust Suzuki 750. It was sucked in tonights practice. Also see pic of my mechanic Frank with the first bird he's pulled in 20 years. Doesn't he look pleased.
