Heavy rain and high winds Friday and Saturday made for a very challenging round #4 of the AMA National Enduro Series in the rolling hills of central Missouri. The Missouri Mudders put together a 48-mile loop that they used twice around the St. Joe state park. With the adverse weather conditions, riders found the rocky single track trail even more of a challenge because the storms had blown down several trees across the trail and the creeks had risen very high.
The course consisted of six test sections ranging from 3 to 9-miles in length, and Lafferty was thriving in the sloppy conditions coming out at least one point ahead of all of his competitors in each of the tests.
Mike now holds a 13 point lead over Bobbitt for the championship, as they head to southern Ohio for Round 5 on 6/4/06.
