Here's the latest sports-touring flagship from Kawasaki UK, who will no doubt be taking a few orders at the NEC for this bold looking motorcycle.
`Powered by an all-new engine, force-fed with Ram Air and fuel injection, the ZZR1400 churns out unheard of levels of thrust.' says the press statement from the Big K, who obviously have Suzuki's Hayabusa in their sights, along with the svelte handling, but plain looking, Honda Blackbird.
This is Kawasaki’s most powerful engine ever and marks the start of a new engine generation for them. Estimates range from 175bhp to 190bhp, but Kawasaki are not stating the power output as yet. All the lines of the bike give the bike an impression of speed, say Kawasaki, and the all-new bodywork features quadruple projector beam headlights, a central Ram Air duct and a waisted fuel tank, making it a comfortable machine at speed. Braking is ABS assisted by the way.
Although European riders are concerned that more fixed speed cameras, plus Police operations directly targeted at bikers, make owning high speed bikes a bit pointless, it seems likely that the new ZZR1400 will find its own loya fanbase, just as the ZZR1100 did 15 years ago.
