This is a press-release from Virgin-Mobile Racing:

This weekend (20-21 August) British Superbike rider Sean Emmett makes a welcome return to the Virgin Mobile Samsung team and the British Superbike Championship for the ninth round at Silverstone circuit, Northampton.

Emmett, who was forced to put his Championship aspirations on hold after breaking his elbow at the opening round in March has now fully recovered and cannot wait to return to the action this weekend. Recently Emmett, who has not raced with the team since April, tested with them at an official British Superbike test at Silverstone earlier in the month and finished in a promising sixth place.

He commented: “It will be fantastic to be back in action this weekend, it feels like the beginning of the season for me all over again. Everything is healed now and I’m ready to go. After testing at Silverstone earlier in the month I am pretty confident of a positive finish here and I’m really excited about racing again.”

Another member of the Virgin Mobile Samsung squad who is keen to get the weekend underway is double Castle Combe winner Tommy Hill. The 20-year-old scored a resounding double victory at the Wiltshire track and will be looking to continue in the same successful vein at Silverstone. Hill commented: “That really was an excellent weekend at Castle Combe; I battled hard and, more importantly, beat many of the racers that I’ve been fighting with all season. This weekend I will be concentrating on doing exactly the same at Silverstone.”

Meanwhile the third member of the team Richard Wren will be intent on finishing in the top ten once more. The London-based racer, who qualified on the front row of the grid in fourth at Castle Combe and went on to score an eight and fifth place finish, is aiming to capitalise on his current strong form.

Wren commented: “I seems a while since we have had a BSB race and I really can’t wait to get back in action this weekend. The last couple of meetings have been excellent for me and I feel very confident about the weekend ahead. Now I have started scoring points I don’t intend to stop.”
