Arai TT Day Of Champions

In a new initiative for the TT, the inaugural ‘Day of Champions’ will take place at the TT Grandstand on Thursday 7th June with a whole host of events taking place during the course of the day. Similar to the Riders for Health Day of Champions held each year at the Donington Park Moto GP, the TT Day of Champions will be sponsored by Arai with money being raised for a number of charities including the ACU Benevolent Fund, the Joey Dunlop Foundation and the Martin Hayes Fund.

The event, being coordinated by Group 4 Securicor and the DTL TT Motorsport team, will be hosted by Manx Radio TT’s Chris Kinley and Tim Glover and will comprise of chat shows with star riders and personalities, auctions and music. Guests in attendance reads like a who’s who of not only the TT but of motorcycling in general and just some of the celebrities signed up include Carl Fogarty, Noriyuki Haga, Kevin Schwantz, Murray Walker, Giacomo Agostini, Phil Read, John Surtees and Neil Hodgson.

Stars of the past are also represented in the form of Mick Grant, Ron Haslam, Rob McElnea and James Whitham whilst Ian Lougher, Martin Finnegan, Ian Hutchinson, Guy Martin and Dave Molyneux are just some of the present day stars appearing at various stages during the day.

The TT Car Park in Nobles Park and the TT Grandstand will be completely free of charge for race fans although donations will be sought by attendees of the charities mentioned above, with collection buckets being passed around.

The event kicks off at 12.00pm on Thursday and is yet an another event of TT 2007 not to be missed.
