Husqvarna Racing's Troy Herfoss and Adam Cini blitzed round 3 of the Supermotard Extreme Queensland Championship at Willowbank on the weekend, taking out the number 1 spots in the S2 and S1 classes respectively. What made this round even more captivating was the fact that factory KTM Motorex riders Stuart Bennett and Graham Cheeney as well as Team Axis Honda rider Rodney Taplin were in attendance, preparing for the last round of the Ssangyong Australian Supermotard title to be held at Willowbank in 4 weeks time.
Adam finished with an impressive three wins and one second placing from his 4 races in the S1 class on his SMR510. Adam took out the class win for the day ahead of Angus Reekie and Corey Glock in third. 19 year old Troy Herfoss was unstoppable in the premier S2 class, totally dominating all 4 races with 4 wins. Adam Cini come away with two seconds and two thirds.
Race one was a battle between Troy and Adam with Troy passing Adam early, going on to win by 6 seconds. In the second, Troy didn't get off the line cleanly and was 5th after turn one behind his main rivals, Team Axis Honda rider Rodney Taplin, KTM Motorex rider Stuart Bennett and Husqvarna's Adam Cini. Troy fought hard and pushed his way into the lead on the second last corner in the final lap to hold onto the win.
In race 3, Troy lead from start to finish and in race 4 officials declared the race as it began to rain 3/4 way through, with Troy ahead of the pack. Troy won the round convincingly with Adam second and Nick Braid Third.
