Two dominant moto wins sealed an eleventh MX1 victory of the year for Stefan Everts, who with four rounds still to run is on the verge of an 10th world title. The works Yamaha rider adopted the Pirelli Scorpion Mx model as an important component towards his success. The same tyres also played a leading role thanks to the efforts of Joshua Coppins, Kevin Strijbos and Steve Ramon who were 2nd, 4th and 5th in the premier category. The Grand Prix of Czech Republic was a strong one for the Scorpion Mx with David Philippaerts confirming overall spoils with 2nd and 3rd positions to earn the top step of the podium, while Chicco Chiodi took a decent first moto result of 4th with the same rubber as the factory KTM representative and winner.

Around the crowded Loket circuit the Pirelli Scorpion Mx MidSoft 32 was the weapon of choice and key assistance to Stefan Everts’ latest win. The Belgian booted his Yamaha with the tyres in both motos and remained error-free on the difficult and slippery surface that saw all of his rivals struggling to maintain a regular pace. At the end of the day with his eleventh straight triumph Everts has extended his lead in the series to the point that even if his closest rival takes a perfect 50 points at the next race the 33 year old needs only one point to earn his tenth crown. Joshua Coppins was powerless to stop Everts. The New Zealander was riding the CAS Honda with a MidSoft 32 in the first moto and a MidHard 454 in the second and finished runner-up overall in front of Spaniard Jonathan Barragan. With the MidSoft 32 Suzuki duo Kevin Strijbos and Steve Ramon, were 4th and 5th in the final classification and both follow Everts in the current series standings.

For the fourth time this year the Pirelli Scorpion MX have owned the MX2 class thanks to David Philippaerts who won the Grand Prix of Czech Republic despite not taking a chequered flag in the motos. The KTM rider, who set off in both outings with the MidSoft 32, obtained his sixth career victory after a tough opening race in which he finished second despite having no front brake, and then took part in a lively battle in the next heat where he was part of a heated skirmish. It was a positive half of the GP for Chicco Chiodi, who finished 4th in the first sprint with the MidSoft 32 but a crash on the first corner of the next moto saw him having to pull back from last to 13th.
