On September 14th Leon Haslam had the most exciting ride of his life when he was given a flight in a Tornado at RAF Marham in Norfolk.

The British Superbike star, who enjoyed a winning double at Donington Park this weekend, was taken on the 1 hour 40 minute ride by Squadron Leader Jez Holmes and commented afterwards, “To experience travelling at 600mph just 150 feet above the ground was absolutely amazing. It was tough trying to stay conscious but it was fantastic.”

Following his rollercoaster ride Leon wanted to kick it up a gear even more so challenged the pilot to a race along the runway!

See the video below see what happened when he lined his Ducati 1098 up against an RAF Tornado.

Wrigley’s Airwaves, title sponsor of the GSE Ducati British Superbike team for whom Leon has ridden for 3 years, were supporting the activity through their latest campaign Airwaves Pro.

The Airwaves Pro campaign sets aside a fund totalling £20,000 for those people who would like to kick their lives up a gear. To find out how you can get involved or see the results of the Airwaves ‘Kick up a Gear’ campaign, visit www.airwaves-pro.tv.

Very cool! They should have put the BSB race bike up against the Tornado though, not the 1098 road-bike! Still, good performance.
