Trial bike legend Steve Colley shows what it takes to reach the top in the latest DVD release from powersport specialists Duke Video. Steve Colley, Mr Showman includes all-new footage of Colley riding up cliff-faces and leaping an array of obstacles in his trademark “showman” style. From places as varied as the rocky coastline of the Isle of Man to a bullring in Spain, Colley takes the viewer through the personal and professional challenges he faces in the sport, with plenty of trial riding along the way.
Colley won his first competition aged seven and has amassed a haul of medals and awards since then. Determination and a sense of humour earned Colley the respect of riders and fans that have followed his 16-year stint competing at world championship level. He is a three-time and current British solo trial champion, has won the Val D’Isere Mountain Pursuit Trial four times and is currently third in the world indoor trial riding ranking. Much of the DVD action takes place on his local turf, the Isle of Man, where he has won the Manx National 2- day trial an unprecedented ten times.
Riding tips and technical info are included on the DVD. Colley shows how to pick a line through rough terrain, descend cliffs safely and balance on everything from boulders to bulldozers. There is also advice on equipment and which tyres to use when trial riding. Mr Showman shows Colley defying gravity as he draws on his skill and experience to win races and entertain crowds. The flamboyant rider is also seen in action when slippery surfaces lead to disaster. Never one to disappoint his fans though, Colley recovers his composure and tackles the course again.
