Vemar helmets are prominent in the international motocross scene and relied on by riders such as Rockstar Suzuki’s Andrew ‘Sharky’ McFarlane and Yamaha’s Alessio Chiodi. However the Italian company’s top-of-the-range off road helmet also has a hidden talent for Supermoto, as it is supplied with a visor that sits neatly beneath the peak and can be lowered to provide eye protection. This has been designed in response to requests from supermoto racers for a comfortable alternative to goggles and will undoubtedly appeal to many people who ride enduro and adventure sport motorcycles on the road too.

At just 1200g this is a light helmet, thanks to a shell made from tri-compound material (carbon, aramidic fibre and fibreglass), while Vemar’s unique non-deformable polyurethane ‘memory foam’ cheek-pads keep this helmet fitting like new time after time.

Inside is a removable and washable lining in micro-fibre material, treated with ASP (Anti-microbial Sanitized Protection) to ensure it stays fresh. Ventilation is provided through two vents on the brow plus three on the chin-guard, complemented by double extractors on either side and one at back at the rear of the chrome top fin.

The peak can be adjusted without using any tools and the supermoto visor can be attached or removed quickly and easily using a set of alloy screws that are included.

The Vemar VRX7 Shair is secured by a double D-ring buckle, carries the ACU Gold badge for UK sport and is available in sizes XS – XL. Prices start at just £149.99 for the white colour scheme. The colourful Adventure and Attack graphic versions (in silver, red and blue) retail for £159.99 and the distinctive McFarlane ‘Sharky’ replica for £179.99.
