Before things get sunny and warm next year, we plan on launching a new version of the site which is heavily in development, one with some new features and a fresh look. We intend on making LB
The portal for bikers in and around London, a place where they can find out anything they need to know about riding, and riding in London specifically. This means we'll be doing all that we do currently but will be publishing more content on the site, content that's more relevant and more accessible to us all.
For us to do this, we don't just need a new website, we also need people to help create this new content and help us in other ways. If you have experience or an interest in any of the following areas, then please get in contact as we're really enthusiastic about how LB is going to develop, and would love to get the right people onboard to help us. Whilst there's no financial reward at this time for what you put in, you will be part of the team and will therefore share in the success that this brings. Details on where this could go in the long-term are available privately.
Time wise, we're not looking for people to commit all their spare time to this. The core staff behind LB do this already and are merely looking for a number of people to help out in each area where they can. That might be an hour an evening, an hour a week or perhaps just once a year. Whatever works. We would just be happy for the help, as long as its genuine and high-quality.
Roles we're looking to fill:
Journalists/News PublishersWe run an online-magazine aspect of the site already, but are looking to expand this heavily when the new version of the site is launched. We need help in two ways for this; people to help publish news from our sources onto the site. This is simple work that merely requires you to use email and our administration system. The other area we need help in is in writing original content, i.e. product and bike reviews, event coverage articles, maintenance guides and the like. You would be expected to write a document in Word (or similar) and then publish it on the site via our administration system. Full training for both aspects would be provided. For original content, we would require the person to have a good understanding of the English language, though we appreciate that Word helps with most sins in this regard.
All work published on the site would be credited to you, allowing you to develop a portfolio of work and get the best news and motorcycle related content to our readers. We have many times more readers of the site than we do users of the forums. For example, there are over 2,000 members of the forums, but every month we get over 75,000 readers of the site. This readership is growing all the time, but we need your help to make this readership explode.
Photographers/VideographersWe already publish the best motorcycle galleries in the UK, period. Specifically we cover the best UK motorcycle racing events and all the major shows plus any important motorcycle events happening in London. Our photographers are eagle-eyed and fiercely passionate, but they need help in taking the site to the next level. We are looking for people with experience in digital photography and video to help us out with photos/video of events or for articles (bike/product reviews, guides, etc). This typically means having and being able to use a DSLR and/or video camera.
Video is something we haven't done before but plan on providing with the new site. We want video footage to accompany our editorial content, so if you have the equipment, experience and time to help out every now and then, then please get in contact! Ownership of own equipment is essential, and the ability (i.e. broadband) to upload content quickly to our servers (or supply on disc in W.London). Video equipment doesn't have to be the latest and greatest, we think nearly anything purpose made for digital video (i.e. no camera-phones) is acceptable.
Graphic DesignersWe have no design capability, which may or may not show, but we're looking to change this. We need designers who have a funky and contemporary style to help us create artwork for flyers, posters and the website. Experience is a must, though if you have the talent, aspiring designers are welcome. We could outsource this but wanted to turn to the community for help to save being personally bankrupted.
EvangalistsWith the launch of the new site, we'll also be promoting LB more, and advertising it via flyers, posters and the like. To accompany this, we also need people to let everyone else know what we have here and how good it is. This could mean showing other riders the site, talking to dealers about us (and getting the posters up in there), sparking discussion with potential partners, i.e. event organisers or anything else that would help allow us to do more and offer more to our members. Personal initiative is a must for this role, we would expect you to be creative with your efforts, but also to work with us to take things further.
*Contact Us* Please get in contact with us if any of the above sounds like something you'd be interested in doing. Full support and training where appropriate would be provided as well. Details on where this could go in the long-term would also be discussed privately. Thanks! - Contact us at

*Note* If you think you can help LB in any other specific way, i.e. you work in marketing, the legal profession, etc, then please still do get in contact as we're keen to tap into the community for help, as we seem to be such an enthusiastic and loyal one.
